Mobile Emergency Communications & Technology Recovery

Keeping communities connected, restoring critical technology, and supporting the people who respond, anywhere in the country.

Our Mission

When critical technology fails, Freedom Tech responds.

In a disaster, working communications and technology are what let responders coordinate, protect lives and restore essential services. Our mobile unit brings deployable connectivity, technology recovery and experienced technicians to the incident, so responders and the organizations they protect can keep working.

A heavy-duty response truck and a fully equipped communications trailer work as a self-contained technology operations center, even where local infrastructure is damaged, overloaded or gone. Freedom Tech's CEO and President & CTO are active North Carolina law-enforcement officers, so the team understands how incidents run.

  • Self-contained

Truck and trailer carry the connectivity, power, workspace and spare equipment.

  • Redundant connectivity

Satellite plus multi-carrier cellular, extended by mast-mounted antennas.

  • Backup phone service

Temporary lines and handsets on our hosted phone system, so offices, EOCs and shelters keep taking calls.

  • Deployable nationwide

Based in North Carolina and ready to roll wherever we are requested.

  • Responder-led

Our technicians work inside your incident command structure.

How Deployment Works

From forecast to full recovery.

Planned operations and emergency activations follow the same four stages, scaled to the incident.

  1. 01

    Pre-position

Ahead of hurricanes, floods and forecast storms, we coordinate with emergency management and partners to stage people, connectivity and spare equipment near the expected impact area.

  2. 02

    Activate & mobilize

On an approved request we assess the incident, match the team and equipment to the need, and roll the response truck and communications trailer.

  3. 03

    Set up field operations

At an authorized staging location the trailer becomes a technology operations center, with connectivity, workstations, repair space and a sheltered work area.

  4. 04

    Sustain & hand back

We support the incident for as long as it runs, then move organizations back to their permanent systems and document everything we did.

What Deploys

A technology operations center on wheels.

The trailer is the central operations space; the awning and tent add sheltered room to help field crews and multiple agencies at once.

  • Expandable trailer-based operations and technical support center
  • Satellite internet and multi-carrier cellular connectivity
  • Backup phone lines and handsets on our hosted phone system
  • Telescoping communications mast and external antennas
  • Secure Wi-Fi and temporary network infrastructure
  • Workstations for monitoring, coordination and support
  • Deployable awning and enclosed support tent
  • Computer, radio and network equipment repair areas
  • Charging, configuration and device distribution stations
  • Backup power, climate control and exterior work lighting

Core Capabilities

Connectivity, recovery and support, in one team.

Emergency connectivity & phones

Restore the connections responders need to reach their systems, information, the public and each other.

  • Satellite internet and LTE/5G
  • Backup phone lines, call forwarding and temporary handsets
  • Secure Wi-Fi and temporary network extensions
  • Routing, firewalls and VPN access
  • Radio programming and troubleshooting, where authorized

Technology recovery

Floods, outages and storm damage take down whole technology environments, not just the phones.

  • Network assessment and restoration
  • Computer, workstation and server repair
  • Replacement firewalls, routers and switches
  • Cloud, identity and data-recovery coordination

Public safety support

Technical support for law enforcement, fire, EMS and emergency management, inside the incident command structure.

  • Mobile command posts and EOCs
  • Field networking for deployed personnel
  • Incident applications and mobile data terminals
  • Communications equipment support

Community & critical infrastructure

Help the places a community depends on get back online during recovery.

  • Government offices and shelters
  • Healthcare facilities and resource centers
  • Nonprofits and utility restoration teams
  • Supervised connectivity and device-support areas

Deployment Scenarios

Built for the incidents communities face, coast to coast.

Hurricanes & tropical storms

Staged before landfall to back up EOCs and restore connectivity after impact.

Flooding & severe weather

Support when networks, equipment or power have been damaged.

Tornadoes & widespread damage

Temporary connectivity and technical support near affected areas and staging sites.

Wildfires & extended incidents

Technology support for base camps, field teams and long-running operations.

Major public safety incidents

Extra communications capacity and technical help for complex multi-agency operations.

Cyber & infrastructure outages

Emergency network restoration, temporary connectivity and coordinated recovery.

Planned events & exercises

Temporary technology infrastructure for large events and preparedness drills.

Coordination & Accountability

We support the response. We don't run it.

The unit works as a technical resource for the requesting organization and, when applicable, inside the Incident Command System. We coordinate locations, access, priorities and technical work with incident leadership.

It supplements existing emergency communications, IT and command capabilities. It never replaces authorized dispatch centers, responders or communications authorities.

Who can request a deployment

  • Emergency management agencies
  • Law enforcement, fire and EMS
  • Local, state and federal government
  • Hospitals and healthcare
  • Utilities and critical infrastructure
